About me
I love trying everything – especially in sports: mountaineering, skiing, cross-country skiing, orienteering, cross-county running, fencing, windsurfing, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, paragliding – I don’t think there’s much I haven’t tried. As a trainer in the Belgian military, I was even at the summit of Mont Blanc 16 times and climbed the 8,201m high Cho Oyu without artificial oxygen.
Due to my great love of the mountains and skiing, I moved with my family from Belgium to Mühlbach am Hochkönig in 2010. After my diagnosis, it was clear – now paraskiing is the next step. As a heavily visually impaired athlete, I became 2-time vice world champion in paraskiing in Lillehammer in 2021 and was allowed to represent Belgium at the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing.
After a serious knee injury, I had to hang stop professional skiing. By chance, I rediscovered climbing while attending an INKlettern event and and was immediately hooked. I am member of the Austrian paraclimbing national team since 2023 and compete in the B2 category.
