Two years ago, Linda Le Bon was still an unknown in the paraclimbing scene.
The 59-year-old faced her new personal challenge and works with great dedication every day in the B2 category. Le Bon was already close to a medal at the 2023 Paraclimbing World Championships in Bern. But the initial annoyance quickly turned into motivation to get even better. Now the Belgian-born woman has crowned her long sporting career at the home World Cup in Innsbruck-Tirol. The 59-year-old climbed the furthest (60+) in the final on Tuesday evening and took her first victory in the Paraclimbing World Cup ahead of top favorite and qualifying winner Seneida Biendarra (ESP/60 holds). “That means a lot to me. Somehow I felt that it could work. You just need the necessary luck on your side. It was extremely close, but it’s an incredibly nice feeling. Slowly but surely I’m realizing that too. The result shows that it is worth fighting for every grip and every movement,” says Le Bon happily.
